The expectation of parties to family law property disputes that everyone will get a “prize” no longer applies.
 
Since 2012 and the decision of Stanford v Stanford the Courts have shown that they will not always adjust the property interests of separated couples, and there is no longer a guarantee of an entitlement to a property adjustment.
